The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has opened the recruitment process for a National Post (with Local salary scale) of the Community Based Protection Officer within a project that DRC is implementing. Community Based Protection Officer will monitor the work of partner organisations including data collection & analysis, in order to contribute to Strengthening Community Engagement.

Position: Community Based Protection Officer (part time 70%)

Period of engagement: 1 May 2022– 31 May 2022 (1 month) with possibility of extension

Reference: The Community Based Protection Officer refers to the Country Director and works in close cooperation with the programme staff.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Communicate with partner civil society organisations, youth organisations and faith based organisation through field visits, as well though regular telecom or email correspondence with the aim of being up to date with information, exchange knowledge, provide consultancy, obtain data to be delivered to report related to the implementation of their projects;
  • Perform data collection and analysis of submitted information by SCO;
  • Prepare presentations, snapshots or overviews of gathered data (incl. ppt, graphs, charts, etc.);
  • Contribute to organisation of events (e.g. coordination, knowledge-experience sharing meetings, trainings) with relevant data gathering and/or technical support);
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits, support partners at the project sites and prepare reports
  • Produce high quality reports within agreed reporting schedules
  • Maintain relationships with SCO ensuring effective coordination and consultation
  • Provide project progress reports as per the donor requirement as well as whenever needed by the Country Director;

Qualifications & experience required

  • Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or other relevant field
  • Experience on refugee/migration related issues

Skills and Work Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in refugee/displacement programs, with focus on community engagement and proven experience in working with partnership, namely SCO;
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to consistently meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.

Key Competencies

  • Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player;
  • Problem solving, analytical and writing skills, with the ability to produce reports for internal and external use;
  • Fluency in spoken and written Serbian and English;
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel);
