The Global Programme to END VAC requires further support to bolster the communications activities and increase visibility of the programme’s activities and achievements and is therefore recruiting an online volunteer to support the website and social media content creation.

The Online UNV will be based at home and will also work under the overall guidance of the of the Coordinator of the Global Programme to End Violence against Children (GLOZ43) and the ENDVAC Team Lead Communications Coordinator. Under their direct guidance, the Online Volunteer will carry out the specific tasks: • Work closely with the ENDVAC Team Lead Communications Coordinator on developing and implementing communication and visibility workplans including media and social media strategies in support to the implementation activities. • Support the END VAC Global programme in creating content for website and social media platforms, developing high-level communications materials (e.g. press release, web story, post, etc.). • Support to adapt media and multimedia assets for the local audience and proactively create tailored editorial content (stories, photos, advocacy images, campaigns, audio, video, infographics, etc.). • Support to map communication partners and relevant social media channels to enhance and adapt HQ materials for media pitching, web and social media, posting daily to respective channels. • Support the END VAC Global programme visibility, reputation, and positioning in this area of expertise by enhancing the outreach of the programme's materials and publications. • Support Monitoring and Evaluation across ENDVAC Communications Efforts and make recommendations to increase outreach and visibility.

Education: • Advanced university degree communications, journalism or experience as a political science editor or international relations analyst is required.

Experience: • Knowledge of web design is required. • Knowledge of corporate social media is required. • Knowledge of/ experience in supporting governance programs is desirable. • Experience within an International Organization or the United Nations system is desirable. • Working experience in programmes funded by the European Union is desirable.

Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English with excellent drafting and communication skills is required. Knowledge of another United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage.
