Result of Service The contractor is expected to work on various aspects of video production for several projects Including: - Filming interviews of various UN system events - Producing videos of UNIC’s projects; including SDGs and outreach - Producing promotional material for UNIC such as public service announcements; - Filming/ Photography for UNIC, SDGs Partnership Programme. - Filming and editing videos about UN’s work on the ground in Kenya

 The IC will be expected to produce 20 short videos for UNIC, average of three videos at the end of each month; The videos will be used in UNIC Youtube channel, Website and social media networks. The timeline for deliverables (including deadlines) will be agreed upon with the supervisor on an on-call basis.

Expected duration Expected duration is 6 months.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Director of the UN Information Centre, the Information and Communication Contractor will be responsible for the following duties: - Ensure that all requests and instructions from UNIC pertaining to Photography /videography requirements are fulfilled; - Support with developing multimedia content, coordination and publishing of UN Office in Nairobi News Letter (Monthly) communication through the UNIC and UNCT Website and Social Media, and the SDGs Partnership Programme - Ensure that all required videography services is completed on deadline; - Work with the highest professional ethical standards and in keeping with UINIC’s and the UN’s core messages. - conceptualize, plan, execute and monitor of internal and online communication work, as well as the maintenance of the UNIC Kenya social media and web resources. - Manage, update and further develop the Centre’s website, including drafting and editing content; assisting in design, development and maintenance of Internet applications; - Assist in the production of a monthly short videos newsletter and post it on the Centre’s web; - Develop monthly social media editorial calendars with various online activities including twitter chats and others, in line with the UN joint advocacy campaigns and events - Develop promotional materials on UN work in collaboration with UN Agencies focal points and UN Communication Group (UNCG) - Assist in the production of the Centre’s external newsletter and post it on the Centre’s website; - Manage and promote UNIC activities through Social media platform.

Qualifications/special skills University degree in communication International Relations or related social sciences. Experience: Minimum of 3 year of experience in development reporting; Proven ability to deliver multimedia and feature content for high-quality platforms; Proven experience in interviewing development programme beneficiaries; Proven ability to work with various UN agencies; Proven knowledge of the UN activities and priorities in Kenya.

Language: English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For the advertised consultancy, fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili is required. Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Additional Information In the context of the COVID-19, the individual contractor may be asked to work from the office for part of or all this contract period depending on the needs of the office. The individual contractor will be remunerated at the rate of $3000.00 USD/month.
