Result of Service Resident Coordinator Office is looking for a Communications Consultant who will assist the office in developing digital communications strategy that will deliver compelling content in social media and digital platforms related to tackling misinformation and hate speech, UN Days, international campaigns and initiatives, UN Country Team’s events and others. The Consultant is also expected to provide support in editting the requested information in English-Turkmen-Russian languages.

Duties and Responsibilities The Digital Communications Consultant will work with the UN Resident Coordinator Office to:

1. Develop a digital communications plan/outreach strategy for wide and targeted dissemination and outreach of the UN Country Team’s results. 2. The management of Resident Coordinator's Office online presence on social media, including regular updates and campaigns. 3. Strategic communications planning and processes that contribute to UN Country Team's mission and work in Turkmenistan to increase visibility and raise public awareness. 4. Support the development and/or adaptation of the content related to UNCT Turkmenistan's activities, UN Days, health information campaigns using graphic tools, including information education graphic materials, advocacy images, audio, video, infographics, and data visualization in cooperation with RCO team and adapt for social media, posting daily to respective channels. 5. Issuance of press releases, posts and messages into Russian and Turkmen languages, and any other official communication received by the RC Office. 6. Contribute to growing and strengthening of UN Turkmenistan's social media activities through supporting the maintenance of web and social media channels, interacting with new and existing audiences online and deepening engagement across all UN social media platforms. 7. Assist in maintaining the UN Turkmenistan website (www.turkmenistan.un.org), which provides overall information of UN Country Team’s activities in the country. 8. Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor. 9. Actively engage in work of the UNCT’s Communications Group and support the Chairs of the Communication Group in implementation of the Group’s decisions and action plans. 10. Liaise with communication officers of other UN entities in join preparation of agreed events, ensuring visibility and publicity for those events. 11. In consultation with RCO Administrative Associate, engage with and coordinate activities of Young SDG Ambassadors and develop ideas for and draft human-interest stories for the UN Turkmenistan website and wider sharing.

Qualifications/special skills Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, international relations or related area is required. At least 2 years of relevant experience including experience of using social media for business in the public or private sector is required. Clear understanding of communication and advocacy concepts, proficient knowledge of social media networks including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as experience with new media executions. Experience with graphic design, design skills to enable the creation of attractive publicity content, ability to create designs for digital media purposes in open-source graphic design programmes, such as Canva is required Experience developing compelling content to generate response from audiences online is desirable. Experience in writing Press Releases and articles.

Languages Fluency in English, Russian and Turkmen languages is required.
