Overview

Support social media and community management for UNICEF Jordan.

You have:

  • A completed degree in the field of marketing, preferably in social media, or any other related area within the last 2 years (2022-2024).
  • Experience in managing social media accounts or a strong interest in social media and digital media.
  • Good knowledge in using social media editing techniques to create multimedia content.
  • Strong video editing skills are an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible.
  • Strong verbal communication, research, and writing skills in English and Arabic.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.

Digital communication plays a critical role in UNICEF’s communication strategy, contributing to fulfilling UNICEF’s mandate in the country and enhancing UNICEF’s brand and credibility. The Social Media Intern will support social media management and contribute to strengthening its relevance to local audiences by following the latest digital trends and bringing creative ideas to the team.

How can you make a difference?

The objectives of this internship are:

  • Assist in the management of social media platforms.
  • Assist in community management activities on different platforms.
  • Assist in creating content tailored for social media.
  • Assist in preparing regular social media performance and insights reports.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Communication Officer, the intern will support social media management and UNICEF’s overall communications objectives in Jordan. The successful candidate will support the management of social media, including through editing content, drafting and scheduling posts, reporting on performance, and supporting community management. Some indicative tasks are highlighted below:

  • Assist in preparing the monthly social media calendar, through writing captions, translating from Arabic to English and vice versa, and editing videos, and pitching new tactics and creative post idea to increase engagement, reach and effectiveness of content among local audiences.
  • Bulk schedule posts on each of the different platforms.
  • Execute ideas for social media Reels and Shorts, which might entail planning with the different stakeholders, filming, and editing.
  • Support the Communication Officer in monitoring and reporting on content performance and compiling monthly social media reports.
  • Monitor comments and DMs daily, addressing inquiries according to the office’s community management guidelines.
  • Abide by UNICEF communications guidelines and values.
  • Participate in a cross-functional capstone project to promote UNICEF operational or programmatic activities.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A completed degree, and graduated in the last 2 years (2022-2024) in the field of marketing, preferably in social media, or any other related area

Interns at UNICEF receive a stipend.
