Marketing & Mobilization (M&M) is a diverse team that is tasked with building the IRC’s global profile and brand, supporting the growth of private revenue from deeper donor engagement and partnerships, and influencing our target audiences. The team is responsible for all of IRC's brand, communications, creative and content and digital engagement efforts.

The Global Programs & Partnerships communications team, is part of the Marketing & Mobilization (M&M) department. The team works to showcase our programmatic and technical excellence, as well as support and highlight IRC’s partnerships with the private and philanthropic sectors and high value donors. Working in collaboration across IRC teams with interdependent objectives and strategies, the team leads communication that spotlights philanthropic partnerships and programmatic impact.

As a key member of the M&M team, the Communications Officer, Global Partnerships will implement the day to day communication strategies that build the IRC’s global profile and brand, increase revenue and engagement from targeted influential consumer audiences and the private sector.

Working closely with the global partnership services, philanthropy and high value teams, the Communications Officer will support the communications needs within an existing portfolio of corporate and foundation partners, working to spotlight IRC’s ground-breaking partnerships and their impact. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Major Responsibilities: -----------------------

The person in this role will be a communications expert who:

- Finds opportunities that increase brand visibility and awareness of IRC partnerships, including via external partner activations, earned media and digital engagement, etc. - Pitches consumer and private sector focused media, highlighting IRC’s programmatic work and though leadership resulting from IRC’s partnerships - Writes press releases, reactive statements, pitches, digital articles, talking points, op-eds, and other communications products highlighting IRC partnerships - Works with IRC’s social and digital teams to collect and produce content and ensures the timely and strategic dissemination of it. - Coordinates with IRC creative and content teams to identify client stories from projects in the field supported by IRC partners - Working closely with digital colleagues, coordinates the visibility of IRC’s partnerships onrescue.org. - Responds in a timely manner to internal communications requests relevant to IRC’s institutional partners. - Secures partnership opportunities and visibility in the context campaigns, such as World Refugee Day and End of Year Giving - Coordinates communications products and needs for corporate and foundations grant and award submissions - Review and approve communications assets from partners that reference the partnership and IRC programming - Builds and maintains relevant press lists - Tracks earned media coverage and compiles quarterly metrics

Job Requirements: -----------------

- 3 -4 years in Consumer and/or Brand communications in the NGO or Cause-Marketing sectors - Private sector or agency experience preferred. - A creative problem solver who’s able to navigate complexity and ambiguity to get to the heart of and land a great story. - Driven self-starter comfortable working with remote, global teams and in ambiguity - Communications “hard skills,” e.g., a terrific writer with a demonstrated ability to develop, pitch and secure feature coverage in target media outlets. - Strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to handle deadlines and requests with multiple partners and teams - A planner and do-er, i.e., someone who has a record of project management, taking initiative and driving implementation.

Working Environment: --------------------

- New York based but working in a hybrid environment with the option of remote work a few days a week. Needs to be available to work EST US time zone
