Evidence-driven advocacy, communications and campaigns continue to play a pivotal role in UNICEF's work in Cambodia and across the world. UNICEF works to inform, raise awareness, and rally public support for the cause of children. Advocacy campaigns also play a critical role in influencing decision-makers and stakeholders at different levels to take positive action to protect children's rights, including by changing policies, legislation and practices.

This year, UNICEF Cambodia will implement new nationwide campaigns on mental health and climate change, as well as implement the second round of Generation Future following a successful pilot in 2021. Generation Future aims to help young people build their futures and fulfil their potential through personalised mentorship, targeted training, and seed funding to develop their ideas for positive change into real world action.

In collaboration with the Chief of Communications and the communication team, the UN Volunteer will: - support implementation of key advocacy campaigns, on subjects like climate and environment, mental health, youth engagement and civic participation, youth employability; - Contribute to the coordination with outside creative firms, consultants, subject matter experts, influencers, development partners as needed to help Communications team complete campaign materials and strategic advocacy; - Work collaboratively with all programme teams, engaging keys Comms team members or consultants, to achieve on-time, engaging content that meets donor requirements and is accessible to target audiences; - Support the development of the monthly communication calendar for the Communication team, including working with the programme team to clarify and schedule content generation, updating the annual master plan document and folding in updates from the Global office of Communication and Advocacy (GCA). - Stay current on evolving global key messages and narratives, around global advocacy priorities and overall strategy and help keep communications team aligned with these; - Assist in identifying innovative approaches to content creation and planning and how to apply them to a Cambodian context; - Facilitate the capacity building and expansion of national team’s skill sets in campaign planning and content coordination; - Organize team clinics and brainstorms for problem-solving, ideating, and campaign planning; - Assist with writing and editing of TORs, work orders, concept notes and other documents for ensuring the full-capacity functioning of communication team; - Take advantage of any learning opportunities organized by GCA; - Engage in joint activities with other UN Volunteers in Cambodia, including organisation of initiatives and events organised by Cambodian youth for youth.

Results/Expected Outputs
- All content outputs are on-time and communication to coordinate is timely and smooth; - Monthly communication calendars are delivered in timely manner; - Potential planning problems are foreseen in advance and all concerned parties are consulted for successful problem-solving and high-quality outputs.

experience in communication, advocacy, communication coordination and planning; - Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded; - Experience preferred in campaign planning and implementation and/or project management; - Experience in planning and coordinating public campaigns.

The Office is situated in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. In terms of living conditions, Cambodia has an appreciable standard: housing facilities in good conditions are available at reasonable prices, including security, all types of foods are available, including restaurants catering to different needs. Transport within Phnom Penh is readily available. The Risk Level for all of Cambodia is currently low.
