The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in the Republic of Korea is inviting applications for a position of Communications Intern.

Ⅰ. Summary of position The Communications Intern will assist UNHCR Korea’s overall communications tasks.

Ⅱ. Duties and responsibilities Under the supervision of Communications Associate, the incumbent will perform the following duties.

Managing UNHCR Korea’s social media channels 1. Establishing strategies to manage UNHCR Korea’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, X, Webpage) 2. Developing and posting social media content 3. Implementing social media events

Assisting UNHCR Korea’s media activities 1. Monitor media coverage on refugee matters and the works of UNHCR 2. Assisting UNHCR Korea’s media partnership

Assisting UNHCR Korea’s public events 1. Supporting the Office’s public events such as World Refugee Day, Korea Refugee Film Festival

Others 1. Translating UNHCR documents and media coverages (KOR-ENG / ENG-KOR) 2. Supporting logistics (administrative process, contract, etc) 3. Cooperation with other units 4. Others

Ⅲ. Qualifications 1. Completion of a university degree in media and communications or related subject such as journalism or advertising preferred 2. Fluency in Korean and English 3. Keen interest in media coverage and trend 4. Experience in MS office (Words, Excel, Power Point, etc) 5. Experience in computer software (Photoshop, Adobe, etc) preferred 6. Interest in humanitarian activities and refugee matters

Ⅳ. Conditions 1. Duration of contract: four months (March 2024 – June 2024) ** Only candidate who can work full-time will be considered
