Result of Service The Communications Expert is expected to deliver all required outputs on supporting data analytics, data management and strategic communications leading up to the Summit of the Future in particular and the overall follow-up to the Our Common Agenda report more broadly.

Duties and Responsibilities - Conceptualize, design and execute a communications strategy that amplifies Our Common Agenda messaging both online and offline in close collaboration with relevant partners leading up to the Summit of the Future, - Prepare and support the development of high-quality communications products including video/audio, photography, social media content with interactive infographics, brochures, announcements, newsletters, articles and op-eds and oversee coordination with graphic designers and thematic experts as needed from raw content to print-ready, - Support the management of and upgrades to the dedicated Common Agenda website, including monitoring user traffic and engagement on the website and advise on continuous website improvements. - Lead preparation, quality assurance, and coordination of integrated analytics and visual materials for senior management decision-making fora meetings on our Common Agenda, - Provide analytical and forward-planning products to leadership by carrying out research on selected aspects of Our Common Agenda and producing infographics and mock-ups, including collecting, analyzing and presenting statistical data from surveys, data collection tools and other information gathered from diverse sources, - Provide backstopping to consultative and other meetings, workshops, retreats and conferences, to include preparation of visual materials, presentations, etc. - Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in political science, international relations, economics, data science or related field is required. A first-level university degree in the above specializations or related fields, in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience in strategic communications, including use of online and social media platforms, ideally for an international organization, is required. Experience in data management, data visualization, integration and analytics is required. Experience in delivering data-driven analytical products to senior management is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required; Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
