Result of Service i. UNMOGIP website is kept up-to-date ii. Material for production of UNMOGIP calendars and diaries are kept up-to-date iii. Ensure that the required material is gathered for the UNMOGIP magazine for 2022 iv. Timely preparation of reports for Senior Management on media activities about UNMOGIP and UN Peacekeeping

Work Location Islamabad

Expected duration 9 months

Duties and Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Communications Consultant will carry out the following duties:

i. Update continuously UNMOGIP web-site; ii. Produce UNMOGIP annual magazine; iii. Produce UNMOGIP annual calendar and diaries; iv. Monitor UNMOGIP and UN Peacekeeping in the media and bring to the attention of Senior Management and reports; v. Visit UNMOGP Field Stations for the purpose of collecting content, including stories and photos for UNMOGIP Website, magazines and other publications and platforms as necessary; vi. Cover events of UNMOGIP such as medal parades, UN Military Observers, Conferences, Farewells, UN Peacekeepers day, UN Women day, Environment day, UN/UN Staff day and Staff Welfare activities for use in the magazine, calendar and diaries and the website.

Qualifications/special skills Skills: Excellent computer skills and web literacy are essential. Academic Qualifications: A University degree or advance qualifications in mass communications, journalism, humanities, international relations, political sciences, development or a related field is required. Experience: A minimum of 7 years relevant working experience in public information preferably in an international setting. Language: Excellent written and spoken communications skills in English and Urdu are required. Ability in other official UN languages is an advantage.
