UNFPA Pakistan communications team is working to achieve three key goals of advocacy, programme communications and strong communications culture under the CO Comms Strategy. The team has expanded the initiatives and partnerships in the past years and continue to build further momentum of outreach on digital and community platforms. UNFPA Pakistan is looking for a passionate and talented Communications Associate at the Communications Unit to support the development of the content including stories and briefs, material for digital media initiatives, event management and programme communications. The Associate will support UNFPA’s outreach and awareness campaigns, content for digital initiatives including newsletters and web as well as UNFPA’s niche campaigns.

Under the direct supervision of the Communications Analyst, the Communications Associate will support the implementation of the Country Office (CO) Advocacy and Communication Strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for creating high-quality content, managing digital platforms, and enhancing the visibility of UNFPA’s impact in Pakistan.

• Content development including for storytelling and social media: Draft compelling human-interest stories from the field that showcase the impact of UNFPA’s work on women and young people, this includes collection of high-quality photos. Web and social media: support management of UNFPA website and social media accounts.

• Advocacy and media management: Support media initiatives including media monitoring and drafting of press releases. Development of messaging for communications products.

• Campaign support: Support the execution of local campaigns, such as 16 Days of Activism and World Population Day. This includes liaison with media production firms, development of innovative concepts and execution as per donor branding guidelines.

• Design support: Using the professional Canva account (official) produce in-house designs including banners, posts and infographics. Produce in-house reels for official social media pages.

As this is a national UNV assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. UNV Field Unit will help you open a Pak rupee bank account with Standard Chartered Bank or any other local bank at your duty station.

Assignment remarks: This is a national UNV assignment, and a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 183,920 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
