He/she will assume the tasks considered traditional of a communications officer and will develop new information channels and formats to make the activities of the Office more visible, accessible, relevant and attractive. As such, the incumbent will ensure a dynamic presence on social networks. Long Description ---------------- **Functions and tasks** The position holder will be responsible for developing public relations networks in the world of media in the countries covered by the Office. He/she will prepare, coordinate and distribute press releases, reports, brochures and other information tools relating to UNESCO activities in the fields of education, science, culture and communication. - The position holder will be responsible for designing and implementing digital campaigns aligned with UNESCO priorities and the interest of a wide audience. As such, he/she will keep abreast of innovation and trends in social networks and propose strategies to raise the Office's visibility. He/she will ensure its dynamic implementation and develop partnerships to improve the digital footprint of the Organization. - He/she will be responsible for the multimedia enrichment of the information content of the Office, including the production of programs, articles or films in different formats relating to programs in the region, with a view first and foremost to their use on the Organization's digital platforms. In this capacity, he/she will select images and audiovisual content, organize and direct filming, supervise editing and commentary, and coordinate the distribution of these programs. - He/she will be responsible for the enrichment of the information content of the Office through multimedia, including the production of programs, articles or films in different formats relating to programs in the region, with a view first and foremost to their use on the Organization's digital platforms. In this capacity, he/she will select images and audiovisual content, organize and direct filming, supervise editing and commentary, and coordinate the distribution of these programs. Long Description ---------------- - He/she will support upgrades to the Office website at the technical level, including mapping and migration of content, and participate in the design, testing and validation as well as the design of new pages taking into account the programmatic content. - He/she will coordinate and work with the UN Information Centre New Delhi and the UN Communications Groups in countries covered by the office in order to further the impact of UNESCO’s communications and engage in joint UN communications initiatives. - He/she will provide organizational support for face-to-face or online events, and will contribute to the preparation and sending of invitations, coordination of participants' travel, preparation and monitoring of contracts with consultants and suppliers. - The position requires a great sense of editorial initiative and a perfect command of English and Hindi orally and in writing, and if possible of French. The incumbent must also demonstrate mastery of the visual language used on contemporary digital platforms. Previous experience in international development bodies would be considered as an asset. **SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES** - Proven proficiency in the use of social networks. - Mastery of audio and video filming and editing tools. - Mastery of broadcast tools, streaming platforms and DAM (digital asset management) tools. - Excellent writing skills in English and Hindi (French also desired) - Editorial management and coordination. - Coordination of service providers in the audiovisual production chain. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- **ACADEMIC** - Masters degree in either mass communication/Journalism, public relations or in any other related field/equivalent. **LANGUAGES** - Excellent knowledge of English and Hindi and a good knowledge of French. **DURATION OF CONTRACT** The duration of the contract is 1 year with a probation period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on the availability of funds and the performance of the candidate. **BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS** ----------------------------- UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, 24 days certified sick leave etc. The approximate monthly starting salary for this post is 206,773 INR (including 15% social security with 10% representing Pension and 5% representing Medical). **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
