Result of Service Under the direct supervision of Program Management Officer (P4), the Speech writer will create communications content in line the Special Envoy’s mandate.

Work Location Geneva

Expected duration 8 months with start date as soon as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities Tangible and measurable outputs of the work assignment of the Consultant:

Organization of the cultivation of the network of the Friends of the Special Envoy, including:

Coordination of the network, including budget and reporting; Design and management of the workplan of the network, including development of optimal engagement opportunities for Members of the Friends Network; Coordination of one event per diplomatic hub – currently in Geneva, New York City, Washington DC, Brussels, and Bangkok – in liaison with the Embassies and stakeholders, including the preparation, implementation and reporting about the events; Communications for the network, including developing promotional materials and social media; Preparation of briefings, presentations and background information about the network. Coordination of the implementation of the global communication campaign for road safety.

Design and manage the workplan and budget of the campaign to expand it into 80 countries; Coordination of the campaign, including coordination with the marketing agencies, partners, member states, local authorities, and celebrities; Coordination of the organization of 5 launch events in 2023 in different regions and support to the organization of events where the campaign will be launched; Manage and distribute the campaign engagement package and toolkit to partners and stakeholders; Manage the communications of the campaign, including the micro-website, preparation and publication of outreach material, press pack, content for the web, social media and media relations; Organization of the regular task force meeting of the campaign; Reporting about the campaign activities.

Qualifications/special skills A Master’s degree in communications, marketing, international relations or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of progressive responsible experience in communications, organization of events or project management is required. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or other Creative Suite software. Familiarity with preparing, producing and publishing content for the web and social media. Work experience in international arena and familiarity with UN work is considered an asset.

Languages Fluency in English and French (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage.
