This is a one year part-time (28 hours per wek) hybrid position which requires 8 days/month with the High Ambition Coalition (co-hosted by WRI) in the GEF office in Washington, DC.

Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

About the Program:

The High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People (HAC) (www.hacfornatureandpeople.org/home) is an intergovernmental group of more than 100 countries—co-chaired by Costa Rica and France, with the United Kingdom as Ocean co-chair— championing a global deal for nature and people with the central goal of protecting at least 30 percent of the world’s land and ocean area by 2030. The 30x30 target is a global target which aims to halt the accelerating loss of species and protect vital ecosystems that are the source of our economic security.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to Deputy Director of the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People (HAC for N&P), you will support the High Ambition Coalition to develop and implement its communication strategy. You will use your expertise to create materials, identify trends, and reach out target audience. You will be supported by the HAC for N&P's technical team.

What will you do:

Content Creation (40%):

  • Develop a style guide (layout, tone, palette, etc.) for the HAC N&P
  • Create materials for different platforms, events, and missions of the HAC for N&P
  • Creatively support the HAC team to provide communications tools (slide deck, comms materials, right messages for media and/or different audiences and organizations., members.)

Implementation (40%):

  • Implement the current communications strategy and propose new developments
  • Lead the implementation of internal and external communications activities pertaining to HAC N&P. The communications activities include, but not limited to, social media platform management, website management, media engagement, webinar organization, video development, writing, managing social media, HAC N&P newsletter

Engagement (20%):

  • Support the team in the HAC N&P matchmaking database promotion and client relations management system
  • Support the curation of the 30x30 solutions toolkit
  • Provide training to the team on the use of social media (LinkedIn, X, IG....)

What will you need:

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or other relevant fields
  • Experience: You have minimum of 5 year of full-time relevant work experience in internal and external communications, if possible, in a small organization
  • Experience working with media and social media and how to use it to impact audience
  • Experience and proven ability to communicate effectively in international settings
  • Experience working with database, a content management system (CMS) and a client relations management system
  • Interest and experience in global sustainability, biodiversity conservation and environmental-related issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment, independently and as part of a global team, in a proactive manner.
  • Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and able to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high quality work products;
  • Have visual skills, such as graphic design and Adobe Photoshop
  • Languages: Proficiency in spoken and written English

Potential Salary: Full-time salary range is between 84,000 and 92,000 USD. This would be prorated according to the percentage of time devoted to this position. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors. WRI offers a competitive renumeration and benefits package.
