Duties and Responsibilities

The Resident Coordinator Office in Serbia supports the Resident Coordinator and the UNCT in developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the UN Cooperation Framework and in all joint activities related to Agenda 2030 in the Republic of Serbia. The UN Resident Coordinator's Office has five core functions: 1. Strategic Planning 2. Economics 3. Partnerships and development finance 4. Data and results management and reporting 5. Communications and advocacy. UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Belgrade, Serbia, seeks to enlist a intern to support communications and digital media components of the RCO. Under the overall guidance of the UNCT Communication and Advocacy Officer and of the Team Leader, the Intern will be expected to perform the following tasks: - Support the creation and adaptation of content related to the UN, including stories, educational materials, photos, advocacy images, contests, campaigns, audio, video, infographics, and data visualization in collaboration with the RCO team. - Support regular update and management of UN Serbia's website and social media accounts. - Coordinate with the RCO and UN Communication Group (UNCG) to update the monthly media grid for UN Serbia's social media accounts. - Monitor various sources for new content and information about the UN on a weekly basis. - Attend RCO/UN agency events to gather quotes, take photos, and record videos for social media posts. - Research partner posts and suggest retweets. Monitor social media accounts for comments and questions from followers and bring them to the attention of the RCO. - Generate and analyze reports on web traffic and social media analytics using tools such as Google Analytics. - Assist in the preparation of bimonthly newsletters. - Prepare monthly statistics reports on the performance of UN Serbia's social media accounts. - Contribute to updating the UN Serbia photo library for social media use. - Assist in the preparation of communication materials for conferences, forums, and other events. - Proofread materials in Serbian and English, as needed. - Provide written and oral translation, as needed.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, one of the following conditions must be met: (a)Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b)Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Basic proficiency with social media management tools and platforms is desirable. Good eye for design and making photos using a phone is desirable. Basic proficiency with PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Word is desirable. Strong communication skills, both written and oral are desirable. Keen attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision is desirable. Basic understanding of web traffic and social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is desirable. Basic translation skills in Serbian and English are desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; For the position advertised, fluency in English and Serbian is required.

Additional Information

The internship is for a minimum duration of two (2) months and can be extended up to six (6) months. This internship is UNPAID, part-time (70%) and of hybrid modality. The duration and modality can be adjusted on request of the successful candidate. Intern will work under the supervision of the Officer in charge of the internship.
