  • At least 5 years' experience in communications, advocacy, media or a related field, with demonstrated progression in responsibility
  • Experience implementing advocacy strategies or campaigns and translating advocacy priorities into communications products and activities, ideally in a development or humanitarian context.
  • Experience working with an INGO, UN agency or similar organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing staff and/or teams.
  • Experience in content production including writing, photography and/or video.
  • Experience engaging with media and managing media relationships.

The Communications & Advocacy Manager leads WVSI's communications and advocacy functions, working under the direction of the Program Quality, Resource Development and External Engagement Manager. The role is responsible for implementing WVSI's Communications Plan and contributing to WVSI's advocacy agenda from a communications perspective, strengthening WVSI's public profile and influence on issues affecting children in Solomon Islands. It oversees the Communications & Advocacy team, manages the communications budget, and ensures that all communications and advocacy activities are strategic, high-quality, and aligned with World Vision's mission, brand standards and safeguarding requirements. The role is the sole line manager of the Content & Digital Coordinator.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS

· At least 5 years' experience in communications, advocacy, media or a related field, with demonstrated progression in responsibility
