  • Bachelor's degree or Higher education in journalism/communication, political studies, human rights or any relevant subject.
  • Experience in social media management and media monitoring tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of English and proficient knowledge of Ukrainian.
  • Knowledge of photo and video management software (Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, etc).
  • Pro-active approach and willingness to learn.

Contract

We are seeking a Ukranian Communication Technical Assistant to join our team in Kyiv. The communication technical assistant will provide direct support to the Communications and Media Coordinator in the implementation of NRC’s internal and external communication initiatives. In particular, he/she will be responsible for drafting, editing and translating communications materials, social media management and monitoring of campaign coverage.

What you will do:

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  2. Assist with the implementation of the media and communications portfolio of NRC in Ukraine
  3. Prepare and develop status reports
  4. Ensure proper filing of media and communications product.
  5. Gather audio visual content, written stories and case studies of NRC activities for the development of public and/ or internal information materials.
  6. Support the implementation of a social media strategy that aligns with NRC goals, including the preparation of social media posts, calendar and performance analytics.
  7. Support the Media and Communications Coordinator to ensure all information products align with NRC UA Advocacy and Communications Strategy
  8. Assist with drafting, translating and proofreading booklets, brochures, leaflets, reports, infographics and other materials.
  9. Assist the Media and Communications Coordinator with the development of high-quality donor visibility products;
  10. Edit photos, infographics or other visual materials as required.
  11. Assist with media requests on NRC’s programme activities.
  12. Monitor national and international media.
  13. Administer NRC’s communications channels (mail, Facebook messenger).
  14. Submit regular activity reports to the Media and Communications Coordinator

What you will bring:

  • Min 2 years of experience in communications, media and public information. Experience in humanitarian, civil society, government, human rights sectors would be an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree or Higher education in a field of in journalism/communication, political studies, human rights or any relevant subject or demonstrated relevant experience in lieu of official academic background.
  • Experience in social media management and media monitoring tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of English and proficient knowledge of Ukrainian.
  • Knowledge of photo and video management software (Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, etc) would be an advantage.
  • Pro-active approach and willingness to learn.
