As a middle-income country with ambitious health development goals, Cabo Verde faces thedual challenge of sustaining progress while addressing persistent gaps in healthcare access,quality, and resilience. A dedicated Communication UNV is essential to support engagingbilateral and multilateral partners, philanthropic organizations, and the private sector to securethe technical and financial resources needed to strengthen the national health system.The role of the UNV involves planning and executing communication strategies to promoteWHO’s work, advance health issues in Cabo Verde and attract partner support, producingtailored content such as press releases, success stories, and social media updates,documenting and sharing impact stories that highlight partner contributions, in newsletters andannual reports and training staff in partner-sensitive communication approaches.

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer and the second level supervision of the WHO Representative, the Online Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Develop and implement communication strategies, campaigns and events to enhance WHO’s visibility and advocacy in support of partnerships and fundraising and health is-sues in Cabo Verde. • Produce communication products (press releases, success stories, presentations, social media content, website updates, newsletters, annual reports) tailored for partners and stakeholders. • Document and disseminate program achievements and impact stories that showcase the value of partner contributions. • Monitor and analyze stakeholders’ perceptions of WHO, recommending risk-mitigation and communication strategies. • Provide guidance and training to staff on partner-sensitive communication approaches. • Develop health promotion communication content to raise awareness of evidence-based health interventions in Cabo Verde. • Develop and nurture fruitful collaboration with media and journalists.
