This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Peacebuilding Advisor, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Draft, edit, review and finalize effective and accurate written communication materials (including contributions to PBF Secretariat annual reports and other publications, as well as statements, key messages and related materials) for public dissemination,

  • Works closely with PBF Secretariat experts to ensure that data and information included in public communication products are current and accurate,

  • Supports development of a coherent content strategy to advance PBF's mandate, priorities and brand in a manner that ensures quality and enhances a coherent image of the fund,

  • Provide Graphic and infographic design support to create visual assets for web and print, turn multi-dimensional data into attractive and accessible graphics, contribute to developing communication tools, including visual, photographic materials, multimedia presentations and videos, design infographics and illustrations that help convey the key messages of the publications

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Master degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

Communication, Journalism, Knowledge Management, Social Sciences or equivalent in Digital Communication or a related field.

Required experience:

36 Months

Experience remark:

  • Experience in producing, editing communication, digital storytelling and knowledge management products,
  • Experience on website management and knowledge management platform design,
  • Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools,
  • Experience organizing virtual events and/or high-level meetings is an asset.

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • French(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Selection process

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. The selection will be done by the UN Host Entity at the level of the country of assignment. Interviews will be conducted by the UN Host Entity between 17 May and 4 June. Usually these interviews are competency-based.

COVID-19: In case of travel restrictions, assignments may start remotely or start dates may be postponed.
