Effective communication and resource sharing are crucial for supporting the implementation of the WHO/UNICEF Regional Strategy on Child and Adolescent Health and Well-being. National focal points require a reliable, accessible platform to exchange information, receive updates, and collaborate on regional priorities. This assignment will help WHO/Europe identify the best digital solution and ensure it is fully operational, enabling smoother and more coordinated engagement across all Member States. The volunteer’s technical expertise will provide essential support in bridging communication gaps and ensuring accessibility for all countries
We are looking for one Online Volunteer with IT and digital platform expertise to help identify, assess, and set up the most suitable online platform for communication and information exchange among national focal points for Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) in the WHO European Region. The selected platform must: • be freely accessible to all 53 Member States, • have no regional access restrictions, • allow posting of updates, sharing of resources, and exchange among focal points, • support easy onboarding and long term maintenance. The Online Volunteer will be asked to: • Analyse and compare available communication/collaboration platforms (e.g., Trello, Slack, MS Teams communities, open source solutions, etc.) based on accessibility, usability, security, and cost. • Identify at least 2–3 platforms that meet WHO needs for a 53 country network. • Recommend the most appropriate option with a short justification. • Set up the chosen platform (structure, channels/spaces, user groups, permissions). • Prepare basic guidance for users (simple instructions for accessing and navigating the platform). • Provide light technical troubleshooting during the first weeks after setup. • Provide occasional support for uploading or organizing resources on the platform. Daily workflow & logistics: The volunteer will collaborate with the WHO team via email and short virtual meetings. Tasks are flexible and can be carried out remotely.
