Communication Officer – Internal Engagement

Description

IFC’s Corporate Communications unit is looking for a communications professional to join its internal engagement team. This role will lead on all-staff corporate events and help drive staff engagement and strengthen corporate culture across the organization. Candidates for this exciting position must have experience with event management. The position is based in Washington, DC.

In addition to internal engagement, the Corporate Communications unit is responsible for executive communications, creative productions, media and digital engagement, editorial management and publications, corporate events and thought leadership promotion.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Conceptualize, plan, and organize a wide range of staff events, such as all-staff town halls and other staff engagements hosted by IFC’s Managing Director and Management Team. This includes managing all event-related logistics, budget, procurement, and vendors.

• Partner with the internal engagement team and other key stakeholders on a wide variety of culture-building initiatives, both in HQ and field offices, such as the Corporate Awards ceremony and Community Connection Campaign initiatives.

• Work closely with the front office of the Corporate Support Vice-President on staff events, including town halls, happy hours, other special staff engagements.

• Manage the marketing and promotion of events, including the development of marketing materials such as brochures, fliers, invitations, and postcards.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal service provides including IT, AV, and Facilities, as well as external vendors.

• Produce event metric reports.

• Serve as center of excellence for internal events.

• Provide other support, as needed, to the internal engagement team, such as helping maintain the intranet homepage and manage all-staff announcements.

Selection Criteria

• Master’s degree in communications, journalism, public affairs, marketing, or similar field, with five or more years of experience, or the equivalent combinations of education and experience.

• Experience with event planning and management in a large and complex environment.

• Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Good understanding of communication approaches, tools, and methodologies used to support staff engagement and communication.

• Graphic design and basic SharePoint and video editing skills helpful.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.

• Knowledge of World Bank Group protocols/etiquette helpful.

• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

• Energetic self-starter who consistently demonstrates superior performance with minimal supervision.
