Contract

The salary for this job should be between 75,594 USD and 102,675 USD.

For every child, the right to a voice
With the constant expansion of digital channels, and in an increasingly competitive environment for capturing audiences’ attention, there is a greater need than ever for the development of inclusive, engaging, and provocative communications assets that spark conversations, inspire action, and to position UNICEF as a relevant and reliable source of information/tools/experience for children and youth and unlock the potential for digital growth across the region.
In line with the Regional Advocacy and Communication Strategy, the Digital Communication Officer will work to enhance the organization's digital presence. This includes setting up early warning systems to anticipate and address reputational risks, creating and oversee the diverse content creation, as well as improving the digital capabilities of all 24 Country Offices.
The Digital Communication Officer will also lead implementation of the Parenting Hub project under the supervision and support of the Communication Specialist, managing the website, overseeing the production of web and social media content, and implementing the digital advertising strategy. Additionally, the officer will spearhead the creation of a regional campaign for Parenting Month and manage the communication partnership with the donor.
How can you make a difference****?
The Advocacy and Communication section has an ambitious digital, social media and web strategy to implement and secure UNICEF's digital presence in Latin America and the Caribbean due to the high demand for digital growth from the Regional Office and the support to Country offices.
The Digital Communication Officer is responsible for setting up early warning mechanisms to anticipate and mitigate reputational risks, overseeing and producing content for various social media channels, and monitoring performance and digital marketing plans. He/she will lead the Parenting Hub project and manage the communication component of the partnership with the main donor of the Parenting Hub, monitoring the performance of the specific site, producing, adapting, and creating engaging web and social media content.
Additionally, with the support of the digital team, the Digital Communication Officer will help build the capacity of the 24 country offices in the region and enhance both the Regional Office and the Country Office's digital and social media presence to strengthen its advocacy goals around crucial issues.

- Desirable knowledge of communications around Latin America and the Caribbean at CO or RO level.
