Communication Officer, Corporate Support

IFC’s Corporate Communications unit is looking for an experienced communications professional who will work across the functions of the Corporate Support Vice Presidency (COSVP), with a special focus on HR, to develop effective communication content and campaigns that strengthen employee engagement and elevate IFC’s ongoing enhancements to corporate support efforts. The COSVP is responsible for communications, outreach, and partnerships, alongside other core functions including HR, budget, and IT. The Vice Presidency supports the implementation of IFC’s business strategy for effective delivery of our programs to clients and partners, in close collaboration with relevant counterparts across the World Bank Group.

The Corporate Communications unit provides primary support to IFC’s corporate efforts including communications and outreach for the office of the Managing Director and the Management Team, and departments that perform corporate functions –Risk and Finance, and Legal and Compliance Risk. It delivers a range of corporate communications services including data-driven communications and outreach strategies; positioning, messaging and branding; executive communications for IFC’s Management Team; facilitating employee engagement; driving creative productions; proactive media and digital engagement; editorial management and publications; leading and coordinating corporate events; promoting IFC’s thought leadership; and coordinating across the World Bank Group communications network to ensure consistency and showcase IFC’s impact. In performing these functions, the team works closely with IFC’s Global Industry and Thematic Communications unit and Regional Communications unit to generate relevant content aligned to IFC’s strategic priorities. The unit also works closely with IFC’s Risk & Public Affairs team to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and reputation risk management.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the end-to-end internal communications process relative to the change management agenda for IFC and the HR department, to include information gathering, audience analysis, communication goal identification, message development, execution, and feedback to inform future communications.

• Work closely with the Internal Engagement team to ideate, design, and implement compelling internal and HR communication plans, campaigns, and messages across a variety of mediums that resonate with and engage internal audiences to achieve desired business results.

• Leveraging the full resources of Corporate Communications, help design and execute comprehensive change communication plans with fully integrated strategies to reach both employees and clients, treating them as unique audiences under a cohesive communication plan.

• Incorporate change management communication trends and best practices, as well as new tools and technologies into IFC’s internal communications repertoire.

• Participate in departmental efforts to collect communication metrics and feedback with the intent of measuring the effectiveness of our efforts and informing future strategies, particularly within the HR and the broader Corporate Communication department.

• Actively liaise with department Directors and Managers on work program items requiring the VP’s attention, problem solve, and conduct necessary organizational coordination for action.

• Working closely with other Advisers, Managers, and staff in the COSVP Front Office, ensure that all relevant views are integrated in notes, briefing materials and advice provided to leadership.

• Prepare and attend meetings with leadership; ensure appropriate follow through on actions, decisions, and commitments made by leadership by working with the parties responsible for implementation.
