Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Communication for Development Specialist the UNV Communications Officer will support with tasks relating to • Provide technical support to Ministry of Health in the development of workplan aimed at increasing the uptake for COVID-19 vaccine, including supporting the creation and dissemination of communication materials and messages for key targets groups where vaccine hesitancy has been identified (In collaboration with PAHO/CARPHA and key stakeholders). • Technical support to ensure timely implementation of COVID-19 workplan activities. • Supporting the oversight and management of funds received for COVID-19 vaccination roll-out in Trinidad and Tobago • Support to sensitization of migrant communities on COVID-19 prevention and access to vaccination. • Technical support in the roll-out of U-Report (and UPartner)s. • Support communication visibility for donors and UNICEF, including drafting Human Interest Stories and providing information for UNICEF social media updates. • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Educational additional comments

University / Master degree in Communication for Development, Social Marketing, Social and Behaviour Change Communication, Project Management, or another related field

Experience remark

At least 15 years of professional work experience in social and behaviour change communications especially in health; experience in project management will be an asset • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills. • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; and online meeting and training platforms • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision and work remotely; ability to work with tight deadlines;

  • Spanish(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
