Support project communications needs effectively.
You have:
- BA in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations required.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in journalism, public relations, marketing or Communications.
- Excellent communication skills in English, French, and Kirundi (written and verbal).
- Excellent writing skills, with photographic and video skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, the media, the Government, donors, and other partners.
- Ability to generate and maintain effective networks with the media and other partners.
- Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines.
- General experience in project management, with specific experience in the production of diverse and creative communications projects including publications, multi-media, websites/pages, photo and video reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communications skills.
- High level of confidence and confidentiality.

Purpose of the position:
Support the project’s needs in terms of communications and World Vision’s communications’ Department in WVB’s key communication processes, the production and use of key communications resources for donor and public engagement that position the project and ministry of WV Burundi.
Major Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the production of compelling and issues-oriented visibility, fundraising, advocacy and publicity materials (web-based, electronic, print and video) for effective donor and public engagement in regard with the project.
- Produce consistently and timely feature stories and photos for sharing with World Vision communication team to be part of the success stories to share WV Partnership-wide website.
- Participate in communications planning and briefing e.g. press conferences and media interviews.
- Produce consistently and timely feature stories and photos for sharing with the donor and the World Vision and partnership-wide website
- Prepare to provide relevant audio-visual communications training to non-communications project’s staff
- Ensure that all work done in the audiovisual and photo domains is recorded. Keep an updated record and status of audiovisual assets and manage (store, update & disseminate) video resources for the project and WV Burundi
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- Qualification required: BA in Journalism, Communications or public relations.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years professional experience in journalism, public relations, marketing or Communications.
- Technical skills:
- Excellent communication skills in English, French and Kirundi (written and verbal).
- Excellent writing skills, with photographic and video skills
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, the media, the Government, donors and other partners
- Ability to generate and maintain effective networks with the media and other partners
- Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines.
- An energetic, analytical and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility.
- General experience in project management, with specific experience in the production of diverse and creative communications projects including publications, multi-media, websites/pages, photo and video reports
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communications skills.
- Able to travel and work in the field as an essential function of the position.
- High level of confidence and confidentiality

Working environment/conditions
- Work environment: Office based with frequent travel to field
- Travel: 20% local travel required
- On call: 10%
