Overview

Contribute to the development of a communication strategy.

You have:

  • At least 8 years of experience in the field of public communication, advertising, social media management or similar.
  • A university degree from an accredited educational institute in public relations, public information or media management, communication, business management or related field.
  • Excellent command in writing and oral of the English and Arabic language.
  • Excellent organizational skills, creativity, initiative, flexibility and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within a multi-disciplinary team.

Work Location Beirut

Expected duration 4 months, further extension is based on availability of funding.

Duties and Responsibilities - Contribute to the development of a communication strategy based on stakeholder and risk analysis - Coordinate with internal and external partners in developing communication materials and assist in placing these strategically - Identify key messages and develop communication material for UNRWA staff and other stakeholders - Assist in the direct communication and placement of key messages - Monitor the roll-out of digital identity verification response within the target community - Support communication mitigation measures if, when and as necessary and appropriate

Qualifications/special skills Competency: - Excellent organizational skills, creativity, initiative, flexibility and analytical skills; - A keen interest in delivering timely and high-quality product results; - Ability to work under pressure and within a multi-disciplinary team.

Academic Qualifications: - A university degree from an accredited educational institute in public relations, public information or media management, communication, business management or related field.

Experience: - At least 8 years of experience in the field of public communication, advertising, social media management or similar; - Proven experience in successfully leading public relations campaigns and media outreach activities for high-stake and value products;

Desirable Experience - Experience in working in international settings is highly desirable.

Language: Excellent command in writing and oral of the English and Arabic language.

Additional Information - Remuneration will be at the G-18 daily rate level and in USD and depending on the qualifications and experience of the consultant, and no other benefits except for travel related expenses if applicable; - One and a half day leave per month. - The consultant will be based in Beirut at the UNRWA offices in the UN common premises
