Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Evidence-driven advocacy, communications and campaigns continue to play a pivotal role in UNICEF's work in Cambodia and across the world. UNICEF works to inform, raise awareness, and rally public support on the cause of children. These campaigns also play a critical role in influencing decision-makers and stakeholders at different levels to take positive action to protect children's rights, including by changing policies, legislation, and practices. This year, UNICEF Cambodia will implement new nationwide campaigns on mental health and climate change, as well as implement the second round of Generation Future following a successful pilot in 2021. Generation Future aims to help young people build their futures and fulfil their potential through personalised mentorship, training, and seed funding to develop their ideas for positive change into realprojects. UNICEF Cambodia aims to onboard a national UNV to communication team on social media and digital engagement around Generation Future and other campaigns.

Under the direct supervision of the Social Media lead, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

▪ Support the development and implementation of Generation Future communication and social media plans, working closely with the Generation Future mentees and mentors and UNICEF's Generation Future lead. ▪ Manage the 'We Are Generation Future' Facebook group and proactively work towards reaching a broader range of youth with opportunities to engage with Generation Future. ▪ Establish and maintain an up-to-date key message and advocacy narrative related to youth development and engagement. ▪ Responsible for drafting weekly social media plans regarding Generation Future and other campaigns. This includes crafting messages, stories, photos, graphic cards, contests, audio, video, infographics, etc. ▪ Maintain a weekly updated social media calendar and content plans related to Generation Future and other campaigns. ▪ Actively engage with online audiences through social media channels timely respond to messages and comments. ▪ Generate and analyze reports on web traffic and KPIs using Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and other social media-focused analytics channels. ▪ Maintain and further develop a database on relevant youth-centered organizations, youth groups, and social media influencers in Cambodia, note their potential for collaboration with Generation Future, and support outreach communication. ▪ Support the planning of the World Children's Day (20 November) celebratory media moment, young people's work achieved through Generation Future.

In all written products, the following considerations must be made: ▪ Protecting the rights of the child must be given priority above all considerations when collecting and writing stories and other materials; ▪ Ensuring clarity, readability, logic, appropriateness as well as engaging writing in all products; ▪ Ensuring Khmer language accuracy. The final product in Khmer must not require further editing/copy-editing; ▪ Consulting with a supervisor and other UNICEF colleagues to ensure adherence to UNICEF style and guidelines and alignment with the country programme ▪ Ensure communication materials are inclusive, equitable, consultative, and participatory to carry along all stakeholders and provide editorial support to the Communication Team as needed.
