Overview

Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating digital communication initiatives.

You have:

  • Completion of bachelor’s degree in the field of Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science is required.
  • A minimum five years of practical professional work experience in digital communication, social media management, community and event management.
  • Experience in content generation for social media platforms is critical.
  • Background familiarity with content management system for podcasts/website is also required.
  • Knowledge of Drupal will be crucial.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, articulate correspondence and communicate well.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural set.
  • Fluency in Russian, Kyrgyz and English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Contract

This is a G-5 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 5 years of experience, depending on education.

Under the close supervision of the Advocacy, Communication and Partnership Officer, the Digital Communication Assistant will assist in planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating digital communication initiatives to support the advocacy and communication strategy of the Country Office including in management of social and digital media platforms.

How can you make a difference?

KEY END-RESULTS

  1. Communication strategy: Effective support is provided to the Communication officer for preparing various communication products and materials that support country communication strategy and resource mobilization as per the office communication and advocacy action plan.
  2. Web Management: Effective and timely assistance is provided for the management of the office web platform through planning and gathering content for the website to support effective communication strategy and regional and global campaigns and priorities.
  3. Social Media: Effective and timely support is provided for developing and managing social media accounts, maintaining contact and relationships with social media influencers to position children’s issues at the centre of the social media and communicate the story of UNICEF's contribution in the country to a wider audience.
  4. Monitoring and evaluation: Effective support for timely monitoring and evaluation activities of social media platforms is provided to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of country digital communication efforts. Results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis.
