Purpose for the job

Under the supervision of the NOA Communication Officer, the GS5 Communication Assistant (Content) supports the multimedia content creation required by the Country Office.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

1. Support in the identification of stories for the creation of multimedia content

• Support the identification of stories for the creation of multimedia content that allows visualizing the issues prioritized by UNICEF and showing the results of their intervention.

• Coordinate the audiovisual and photographic record of the activities scheduled by the Representation and by the Progamme and Communication areas.

• Support in the construction of scripts for audiovisual pieces.

2. Support in the press media management

• Support the identification of entertainment spaces where there is an opportunity to post UNICEF messages.

• Support in coordinating the presence of UNICEF program spokespersons, ambassadors and friends in those spaces.

• Support in contributing to the permanent updating of the area’s media directory.

• Support in the preparation and field accompaniment of national or foreign press teams.

3. Support managing the UNICEF audiovisual bank

• Ensure that the photographic and audiovisual record of the office is duly archived and is easily accessible to the personnel that requires it.

• Carry out the calls and selection of photographic and video recording service providers.

• Respond to the request for images made by the different areas of the office or counterparts.

4. Support in the celebrity management and special event production of press conferences or

launch of UNICEF communication campaigns in Peru.

• Support monitoring the information disseminated about UNICEF ambassadors and friends.

• Support the task of keeping ambassadors and friends informed about UNICEF actions.

• Support the accompaniment of ambassadors and friends of UNICEF to the media or other public events that they attend on behalf of UNICEF.

• Support in the organization of press conferences, campaign launches or other public events of the office in which the support of communication is requested.

• Support in the construction of the programme and script of the events.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

1. Education

Secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university studies in communications, audio-visual, print and broadcast media, or in a related field.

2. Work Experience

Minimum of 5 years of practical professional work experience in communications, audio-visual, print and broadcast media or interactive digital media or in a related field is required.

Practical experience in the UN System is an asset.

3. Languages

Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
