Assist in documenting success stories to showcase project impact.

You have:

  • University degree in Digital Media, Communications, Journalism or related subjects.
  • Seven years of relevant professional experience in Journalism or Communication or advocacy in programmes and projects.
  • Working knowledge (level C) of Arabic and limited knowledge (level B) of English.
  • National of Egypt or national of the country of assignment with valid work permit.

Organizational Setting

The main aim of the FAO Country Offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments in developing policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and nutrition and reduce hunger and malnutrition, promote sustainable agricultural development, reduce rural poverty, develop inclusive agri-food systems and strengthen livelihood resilience in line with the Organization’s Strategic Objectives and United Nations’ global and Government of Egypt’s national Sustainable Development Goals.

Reporting Lines

The Communication Assistant will work in close collaboration with FAOEG, RNE Communications, Office of Communications (OCC) branches and relevant communication focal points and under the overall supervision of the OIC FAO Representative in Egypt with the guidance of the Communication Expert at FAO Egypt.

Technical Focus

The incumbent will contribute substantially to writing outputs required by the Projects namely documenting project Success Stories.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Document compelling success stories showcasing the impact of projects on beneficiaries. • Conduct interviews with beneficiaries, project staff, and other stakeholders. • Develop success stories in engaging narratives, suitable for various platforms (website, social media, newsletters, reports). • Collect photos to accompany success stories, where possible (or liaise with FAO’s photographer/videographer). • Perform any other related duties.

FAO Standards and guidelines:
