You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience working in journalism, communications, media, or Public Relations.
- Fluent written and spoken English and French.
- Strong understanding of print, radio, television and online media.
- Good photography and/or filming skills.
- Gender awareness and cultural sensitivity.

The Opportunity
The Communication Assistant's efforts will significantly impact the visibility and public perception of the project. By effectively communicating the project's achievements and goals. As communication Assistant, you will help to build and maintain strong relationships with the community and other stakeholders, thereby enhancing the project's overall influence and success.
You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including local community leaders, government officials, media representatives, and partner organizations, ensure effective communication with these stakeholders is crucial for the success of the project. The role requires a high level of proficiency in both written and verbal communication. As Communication Assistant will be responsible for creating press releases, social media content, newsletters, and reports. You will also handle media inquiries and coordinate interviews. In this position, you will represent Plan International and the Irish Aids Project in Maroua at various events and meetings. This includes engaging with the media, attending community gatherings, and participating in stakeholder forums.
The Individual
We are looking to recruit a qualified candidate, with a Bachelor degree in University Degree in Journalism, Communication or equivalent experience with a strong experience working in journalism, communications, media, or Public Relations.
As Communication Assistant, you will be fluent written and spoken English and French, with a strong understanding of print, radio, television and online media and a good photography and/or filming skills and gender awareness and cultural sensitivity.
