Overview

Provide technical guidance and architectural solutions to enhance ESCAP's IT systems.

You have:

  • University degree from an accredited academic institution is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience providing technical and architectural support in international organizations, large public sector, or multi-national companies
  • Proven track record leading large-scale software development projects and analyzing system components within a larger technical ecosystem.
  • Extensive experience in applying and assessing project management methodologies and aligning processes with industry best practices.
  • Deep understanding of software development tools and platforms, including their usability and compatibility.
  • Industry-leading expertise originating, developing, and implementing novel concepts in the disciplines of ecosystem-oriented architecture, Power Platform, Fabric, and Microsoft technologies in general.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Result of Service

Expected deliverables to be handed over to ESCAP include but are not limited to the following: - Stakeholder Consultations: Conduct meetings and discussions with stakeholders to assess and evaluate technical effectiveness in achieving set objectives and gather feedback from the various substantive and technical development teams. - Architectural and other technical documentation: Including ecosystem architecture, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, technical roadmaps, and other evaluations as determined necessary through stakeholder and other consultation.

Duties and Responsibilities

The scope of work is to provide expertise and guidance to ESCAP IT leadership architecting and implementing a variety of technical solutions, possibly including but not limited to: - Establishing Power Platform: Establish Power Platform as the first port of call for solution development and app data within ESCAP. - Data Distribution: Build a secure data distribution capability for Power Platform (and other data sources). - Bangkok Service Hub: Modernize Bangkok Service Hub in Power Platform, specifically with Power Pages and Dataverse. - Power Platform Guardrails: Establish robust Power Platform guardrails for workloads, developers, and data kept within. - Interoperability with other UN Secretariat organizations: Collaborate with OICT and other participating Secretariat orgs in areas that require their support. In addition, the consultant will be required to provide expertise and guidance to IT leadership regarding ecosystem-oriented architecture (EOA) so that ESCAP may better secure its sensitive data by reducing the “technical debt” of outdated systems and technical architectures, reduce costs through the consolidation of applications, and optimize its technical systems for analytical and artificial intelligence workloads. This task requires that expertise be provided in the areas of: - Core business systems and migration of legacy applications including SharePoint - Application portfolios built using Microsoft Power Platform - Unstructured data services including Microsoft 365 - Integration including OneLake shortcuts, virtual tables, event and logic driven - Data distribution including Fabric, M365 Copilot, Power BI, and other related technologies - Core Platform services including Purview, Entra ID, and other related technologies
