This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Chief, Business Solution Services or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Cloud ERP Developer Analyst will:

Be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining expert level skills on Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC). The Analyst will focus on cloud architecture, application integration, and cloud application development using Oracle's Cloud Integration Platform OIC. Areas of development will include application integration between Oracle Cloud ERP SaaS Apps, external vendors such as banks, insurance companies, and other internal or UN 3rd party systems. In addition, developers will be called to build applications using the Oracle PaaS which will complement the SaaS ERP.

These positions will be reporting to the Project Technical Manager and will be under the general guidance of the Chief, Business Solution Services.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:

  • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
  • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
  • Provide annual and end of assignment self- reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
  • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
  • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
  • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Master degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree in the same disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Required experience:

24 Months

Experience remark:

Two years’ experience developing integrations or custom applications

A minimum of one full lifecycle Oracle Cloud deployment or two Oracle legacy cloud deployments (PeopleSoft or eBusiness preferably) working as part of an integration or development team

Proven ability to deliver custom Oracle enterprise applications and integrations

Experience developing system processes, procedures, and practices for maintaining the application systems, and their infrastructure and architecture environments

Experience with global international deployments is a plus

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, knowledge of other official UN language(s) is desired

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Specialized knowledge:

  • Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) ideally with integration to/from Oracle Cloud Applications including creating connections, integrations, map data, create lookups, error management, adapters usage and monitor integrations
  • Should be able to transform COA values using OIC
  • Ability to generate outbound interfaces with OIC
  • Oracle VBCS and building custom applications using full stack frameworks
  • SQL, XML, BI Publisher, Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence Web Services, SOAP and Restful, Java or JavaScript
  • Various SDLC lifecycle phases including requirements gathering, analysis and design, build, deployment, testing and support.
