- Diploma or BSc in Nursing (Clinical Nurse)
- Minimum 2-4 years of clinical experience

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing quality, life-saving clinical and public health services to crisis-affected populations within the USG/DoS multi-sector emergency response project. The role ensures timely diagnosis, treatment, referral, and prevention of diseases, contributing to reduced morbidity and mortality among vulnerable populations, including women and children.
1. Major Responsibilities
A. Clinical Service Delivery
- Provide outpatient clinical consultations for common illnesses and emergency conditions.
- Diagnose and treat patients in line with national treatment guidelines and WHO protocols.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency interventions.
- Conduct triage and stabilization of critically ill patients.
- Ensure infection prevention and control (IPC) standards are maintained.
B. Maternal, Child Health, and Nutrition Support
- Provide ANC, PNC, and basic obstetric care where applicable.
- Screen and manage malnutrition cases (SAM/MAM) and refer complicated cases.
- Support immunization services in coordination with health authorities.
- Manage common childhood illnesses (IMCI approach).
C. Disease Prevention & Surveillance
- Support disease surveillance and early warning systems, including reporting suspected outbreaks.
- Apply standard case definitions and ensure timely reporting of priority diseases.
- Participate in health education and community awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
D. Referral and Case Management
- Identify cases requiring advanced care and ensure timely referral to higher-level facilities.
- Follow up referrals when needed to ensure continuity of care.
- Coordinate with ambulance services and health facilities.
E. Mobile Health & Outreach Services (MHNT)
- Participate in mobile health and nutrition team (MHNT) activities in hard-to-reach areas.
- Deliver integrated health services (curative, preventive, promotive) in outreach sites.
- Adapt service delivery to emergency and insecure environments.
F. Reporting, Documentation & Data Quality
- Maintain accurate patient records, registers, and reporting formats.
- Compile and submit daily/weekly/monthly health reports.
- Ensure data quality and support monitoring activities.
G. Coordination & Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Health Extension Workers (HEWs)
- Woreda Health Offices
- Other humanitarian actors
- Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to integrated service delivery.
H. Safeguarding, Ethics & Compliance
- Adhere to humanitarian principles, Sphere standards, and CHS guidelines
- Ensure respect, dignity, and confidentiality of beneficiaries.
- Follow safeguarding and protection policies, particularly for women and children.
2. Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Diploma or BSc in Nursing (Clinical Nurse)
Experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of clinical experience
- Experience in emergency or humanitarian settings is strongly preferred
- Prior experience in MHNT or outreach services is an asset
