You have:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in engineering, technology, environmental science, energy systems, public policy or related area.
- At least 2 years of experience working on environment issues.
- Strong communication and writing skills in English are required.
- Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.

Result of Service
Strengthening of capacities of National Designated Entities of the CTCN in Africa and other stakeholders on climate technologies. -Conduct of regional capacity building events through the provision of technical input and organizational support. - Effective implementation of regional collaborative activities and additional partnership opportunities. -Preparation of Draft concept notes on collaboration between the CTCN and other stakeholders (universities, private sector, donors, etc.); - PCAs between the CTCN and Partners. - Provision of logistical support to NDEs

Duties and Responsibilities
The CTCN is the operational arm of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism. It is hosted by UNEP. The mission of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is to stimulate technology cooperation and to enhance the development and transfer of technologies to developing countries. The CTCN assists developing country Parties at their request, building or strengthening their capacity to prepare and implement technology projects that span the technology transfer continuum. The CTCN supports public and private sector action on mitigation and adaptation, enhancing low emissions and climate-resilient development in a manner consistent with the capabilities and priorities of countries. In this position, the consultant will provide services for the implementation of CTCN activities in Africa and work in close coordination with the Regional Manager for Africa. In support of these functions, the Climate Technology Centre requires a consultant to provide services for the implementation of CTCN activities in Africa.
Qualifications/special skills
• Advanced university degree in (Master’s degree or equivalent) in engineering, technology, environmental science, energy systems, public policy or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. • At least 2 years of experience working on environment issues formulating project documents related to climate change adaptation and mitigation in consultation with national stakeholders
Languages
• Strong communication and writing skills in English are required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
