You have:

• Experience with project management in climate services or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills for assessing project performance and outcomes.
• Proven experience in fundraising and securing funding for projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in organizing workshops, meetings, and events effectively.
• Understanding of disaster risk reduction concepts and practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Willingness to travel and represent the team in meetings.

An exciting opportunity is opened up in the NORCAP climate services team. The team supports national, regional and international partners in advancing their work on extreme weather and climate services, with focus on ensuring that the individual end users are able to make informed choices for their livelihoods. The number of projects, partners and experts are growing and the team need an additional person to work across thematic and project responsibilities.

NORCAP solves challenges in the humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding sectors to better protect vulnerable people’s lives and rights. We build partnerships, promote more effective ways of working and provide skilled experts to develop capacity. NORCAP is a part of the Norwegian Refugee Council. We were founded in 1991 and since then we have provided expertise to approximately 10,000 missions.

Do you have an inkling to work in a team where the success of one is the success of all? The Programme Advisor is responsible for supporting all functions in the team(s) he/she is part of to delivering the project within the approved project mandate and in accordance with the strategy. The Programme Advisor will be part of teams delivering on the NORCAP strategy 2022-2025, with a primary focus on climate services.

Responsibility:

• Follow up on result frameworks for the projects and create reports for donors, reports (internal external)
• Support in following up on climate deployments and implementation in line with the project results framework, analyse the delivery against project targets and make necessary adjustments and improvements in delivery where required to meet the project targets.
• Provide input to NORCAP and NRC advocacy messages and information material within the area of responsibility
• Responsible for planning and implementation of community of practice
• Responsible for organising internal and external events and workshops
• Responsible for representing the teams in relevant meetings internally and externally upon request
• Research and analyze technical and thematic priorities, and emerging trends, fields and geographic regions of importance for the area of responsibility
• Support in developing new initiatives and programmes in the areas of climate services, climate adaptation and DRR, including fundraising
• Support fundraising in the assigned thematic areas.
• Support the scale up and quality assurance of the existing programme
• Follow up/develop budgets
• Support PM in ensuring that the selected projects are following the NORCAP Project Playbook and Cycles, and all other relevant NORCAP/NRC policies.
