Tasks and Responsibilities

PHASE 1 – Initial Planning and Survey • Detailed preparation of the work plan, with schedule and definition of deliverables. • Review of the scientific literature and analysis of studies on emission measurement and carbon sequestration in family farming. • Survey and organization of databases relevant to the research. • Definition of the research methodology, including criteria for systematic review and data modeling.

PHASE 2 – Scoping Review and Preliminary Modeling • Identification and critical analysis of the main methodologies and metrics applied to the measurement of carbon emissions and removals in family farming. • Construction of an evidence bank, including a survey of climate impacts and good practices implemented in other contexts. • Identification of methodological and data gaps to guide the development of the model. • Development of a preliminary model for quantifying avoided emissions and carbon sequestration potential in familyfarming. • Validation of the model through the Delphi Panel, with collection of feedback from experts. • Methodological adjustments and refinement, ensuring adequacy to the specificities of family farming in Brazil.

PHASE 3 – Quantitative Systematic Review and Recommendations • Systematization of the results, including, if possible, a meta-analysis of the available data. • Elaboration of technical indicators to measure the impacts of family farming on climate mitigation. • Formulation of methodological recommendations and guidelines for the improvement of public policies in the agricultural sector, in line with Brazil's climate commitments.
