Work Location The consultant will work remotely in the UAE, with the possibility of reporting to the office on occasion.

Expected duration 12 months effective 1st of August 2022

Duties and Responsibilities In the context of the UN's support for climate action and the road to COP 28, the Climate Change and Partnerships consultant will accomplish the following: - Document and identify new opportunities for UN engagement in climate action, with a particular focus on partnerships around inclusion and innovation. - Facilitate connections between UN entities and potential partners toward new programming and partnerships. - Monitor and document UAE Government priorities and initiatives with regards to climate action and the COP 28 process. - Establish and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders who have overlapping strategic interests with the UN in the field of climate action. - Lead the planning and management of events. - Support resource mobilisation efforts.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in climate change, social sciences or related fields is required. Experience: - At least six years of professional work experience in project management, coordination, partnership development or a related area. Demonstrated experience supporting UN Climate Change Conference/Conference of the Parties (COP) processes is required. - Familiarity with and previous experience with the UN or similar environment is desirable. - Excellent writing, planning, research, communication and reporting skills is desirable. - Demonstrated experience working in the United Nations development system is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required.
