Job Description

Job Overview:

Founded in 1965, Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) is a federal national service program designed to provide needed resources to nonprofit organizations and public agencies to increase their capacity to lift Americans out of poverty. In 1993, VISTA was incorporated into the AmeriCorps network of programs, housed at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). AmeriCorps VISTA supports efforts to alleviate poverty by recruiting Americans 18 years and older from a diverse range of backgrounds to dedicate a year of full-time service with a sponsoring organization ("sponsor") to create or expand programs designed to empower individuals and communities in overcoming poverty.

In the second year of the Client Influence Integration VISTA project, the VISTA will collaborate to build on the Client Influence Strategy developed in Year One to pilot and revise methods, incorporate additional program areas, and further develop indicators and analysis on the impact of Client Influence across programs. The VISTA will work to build on tools and procedures built in year one to pilot client influence initiatives in the context of three or four additional program areas. Year two will also involve integrating Client Influence into IRC SLC’s 3-year Strategic Action Plan, which will be developed office-wide during Quarter 1 of Fiscal Year 2022 (October-December 2021).
