UNOPS in Georgia UNOPS Georgia was established in mid-2018 to support, develop and oversee UNOPS’ portfolio in the country. The office currently provides implementation services to several projects where UNOPS works closely with development partners and the Government of Georgia, focusing on the education, security, and healthcare sectors. This includes a flagship EU project to create and operationalize an Eastern Partnership School that caters to 6 countries in the sub-region.

UNOPS Georgia, which is overseen by AUMCO, is focused on providing efficient and cost-effective implementation services on behalf of all our partners to support the Government of Georgia achieve its national priorities and in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Cooperation Development Framework.

Functional Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Project Management Support-Senior Assistant, the Cleaner is responsible for providing a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the office premises by performing various cleaning duties.

In particular the Cleaner is responsible for: - Detailed cleaning of office areas including mopping and vacuuming of floors; dusting furniture, equipment, and partitions; emptying of wastebaskets and recyclables and disposing them to disposable areas. - Detailed cleaning of toilets including washing/disinfecting of sinks, floors, polishing of metalwork and replenishing of toilet supplies as appropriate. - Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen including facilities, equipment, appliances and floor. - General cleaning of stairways/corridors, balconies and areas around the office premises (if necessary). - Washing of door panels, partitions, etc. as appropriate. - Taking care of office plants - Reporting to supervisor maintenance requirements. - Perform ad hoc cleaning/provide support during/after internal office events upon necessity

Perform other duties as may be reasonably required and in line with the incumbent’s scope of services above.

It is expected that the incumbent will perform the duties five times per week and in duration of approximately 4 hours per day.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education

  • Secondary education is required.

Work Experience

  • No specific working experience is required
  • Previous working experience with UN or International Organizations in providing cleaning services is desirable

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in Georgian is required.
  • Basic knowledge of English is an asset.

Contract type: ICA Contract level: L-ICA-1, Retainer Contract duration: 1 year (with approx. 20 hours per week), renewable subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability
