UNHCR’s Refugee Status Determination Section (Division of International Protection) manages a database, refworld.org, that contains law and policy information that provides information to assist asylum decision makers in finding information relevant for the protection of refugees and stateless persons. It publishes UNHCR policy and guidance and republishes legislation, case law and other legal and policy publications relevant to refugees and stateless persons. Refworld is undergoing a revamp whereby the design and content management system will be updated.
UNHCR is looking for five volunteers to help restructure and tag the documents published on refworld.org. The documents have to be assessed in order to decide which ones will be migrated to the revamped Refworld and which ones will be archived. Furthermore, the metadata of the documents that will be migrated has to be updated in order for users to be able to search and find the documents in a speedy and easy manner on the new website.
Application is open to all nationalities. Candidates should have a master degree in international (refugee) law. Previous experience in classification and tagging of legal and policy documents is desirable.
