The Country Programme of Cooperation between the Government of Mozambique and UNICEF (CPD) for 2022-2026 aims to support Mozambique to accelerate efforts towards achieving the targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and meeting its commitment to respect, protect and fulfil the rights of children, in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action. It derives from the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), 2022–2026 and aligns with the Government Five-Year Plan 2020–2024, the National Development Strategy 2015–2035 and relevant sector policies and programmes.

How can you make a difference?

One challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen within UNICEF Mozambique's Country Programme for a passionate and committed Civil Society Organization (CSO) Partnerships Officer (Open to Mozambican nationals only) based in Maputo, under the guidance of the Implementing Partnership Management Specialist (NO-3 level).

Purpose of the job: The Civil Society Organization (CSO) Partnerships Officer is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to ensure quality, effective and efficient management of implementing partnerships in the Country Office, including the establishment of partnerships through the Partnership Review Committee (PRC) in line with the UNICEF Procedure on Programme Implementation: Work Planning, Partnership and Risk Management, Document Number: PROCEDURE/DAPM/2022/003 Effective Date: 04 October 2022.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Support the management of the implementing partnership portfolio
  2. Quality assurance of PCAs, PDs/HPD, and SSFAs
  3. Analysis, monitoring and reporting, including maintaining of e-Tools database and any other tools related to CSO engagement and partnerships.
  4. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building of staff and partners

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: Development studies, International Development, Business Administration, Financial Management, Economics, Auditing, Project/Programme Management or another relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: programme development/management, financial planning and management, or another related area.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.

There will be no relocation package offered for this post. The successful candidate will be responsible for his/her own relocation and settlement in the city where the post is based.
