Job description

The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a global program working on the prevention of violence and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. The CPS regional program SAUP supports three universities in Philippines, Timor-Leste and Cambodia developing curricula for peace and conflict studies. The aim of the program is to provide university partners with technical and human resource support in building their capacity in curriculum design and contextualisation by integrating best practices from local/traditional practices in non-violent conflict transformation. CPS SAUP is cooperating with ECCC (Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia) which today is tasked with keeping alive the memory of the crimes committed during Khmer Rouge period and integrate the legacy of ECCC into national educational systems.

Your tasks

  • Support in the promotion of the dissemination of information about the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) in the field of higher education
  • Assist in the development and adoption of higher education curriculum on transitional justice for undergraduate and graduate programs in social sciences
  • Support in the development and implementation of practical education tools and methods for teachers, learners, and researchers in the aforementioned fields
  • Coordinate exchange study visits, internships, and other learning opportunities for students in peace and conflict studies, faculty researchers, and lecturers who carry out teaching
  • Active team member of SAUP and CPS by supporting the project implementation and development including tasks in monitoring and networking

Your profile

  • Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Education, Political Science or any other relevant field
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in curriculum development for formal education in the field of social sciences
  • Knowledge about conflict transformation with a focus on transitional justice
  • Experience working with/in academic structures/institutions or actors through teaching, research/or cooperation
  • Peace work in post-conflict/conflict setting, preferably in Southeast Asia as well as experience in project management
  • Flexible, adaptable, cooperative, creative with a positive working attitude. Ability to deal with a challenging working enviroment
  • Business fluent in English

Location information
