UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

Note: "This position will be based in Nairobi. However, the position has the option for a fully remote work modality. This will be determined based on the preferred candidate's location and availability to relocate. In the event, that a remote work modality is selected, no installation to the duty station will be applicable and relevant entitlements will be adjusted based on lower of the two costs between the remote work location and the duty station."

As this role is remote, the candidate will be expected to fulfill their functions during New York HQ or Nairobi HQ core working hours (10AM-4PM) unless agreed otherwise by Hiring Office.

As the world's leading child rights organization, UNICEF is mandated to respond to the needs of children in emergency situations as well as in development contexts, and to take measures to ensure their protection and future wellbeing. UNICEF Child Protection implements a wide range of programme actions, both preparedness and response, that depend on the timely and accurate collection of data and its secure and efficient management, storage, and use. Child protection interventions such as gender-based violence (GBV), family tracing and reunification (FTR), social welfare systems strengthening, and the United Nations Security Council mandated monitoring and reporting mechanism (MRM) for grave violations committed against children in situations of armed conflict require sophisticated information management systems (IMS) to manage data for situation monitoring and for informing programmes.

For every child, a hope….

The incumbent will be a member of the Planning and Evidence Building Team, a cross cutting service-oriented unit within the UNICEF Child Protection Programme Team. Reporting directly to the Primero Lead, he/she will be a key advocate and voice for children and responsible and effective data systems within UNICEF and externally.
