Under the guidance of the Child Protection Regional Advisor and with technical guidance from the HQ Team, the Child Protection Specialist will support the Country Offices, partners and governments in the EAP region to enhance the data collection and monitoring systems, especially administrative data and case management systems, in line with the intermediate outcomes of Child Protection System Strengthening.

How can you make a difference?

The Specialist would provide quality technical support and guidance for:

  1. Country Offices, partners and governments on administrative data and case management system strengthening;
  2. Implementation of case management system component in Australian Committee for UNICEF Limited funded projects in Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Lao PDR;
  3. Making child protection information system interoperable to ensure data protection, efficiency, and integrated service delivery;
  4. Generating administrative data on online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA) through the case management system;

The Specialist will also contribute to knowledge management through analyzing, coordinating, and gathering lessons learned from the fields on case management and administrative data systems to guide /inform / develop best practices to provide an evidence-base for improved programming for child protection and case management.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Social Science, Information Technology, Social Work or other related field. *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in Technology for Development (T4D) and/or information management system, including mobile and web-based applications, with manifested capacity to manage programmes involving many stakeholders.
  • Strong preference given to candidates with experience in information management systems for child protection case management.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
  • Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is considered an added advantage.
  • Experience working at a multi-country level is considered an added advantage.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
