Overview

Support child protection initiatives and promote child rights.

You have:

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences or related field.
  • Five years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Fluency in English and another UN language. Fluency in the national language of the duty station an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of PIC manager or his designated mandated representative, the UN Volunteer Child Protection Specialist will fulfill below

  • Support the implementation of the Birth Registration Program
  • Support the consolidation of the case management system installed in two districts and the extension at National Level. This includes organization of trainings using the case management tools and monitoring of implementation
  • Support the implementation of the FGM programming in collaboration with UNFPA
  • Support the implementation of a Safe to Learn program in collaboration with the Education component
  • Support the strengthening of the data collection program

  • Professional work experience in programme development and implementation including monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Five years of relevant professional work experience.
