Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

- Ensure the functionality of the case management system and oversee delivery of high quality case management in accordance with SOPs and global minimum standards. - Support and guide case management teams in their day to day work ensuring adherence to key child protection principles. - Provide guidance to teams on identification of child protection risks and appropriate response, through one-to-one guidance or case review meetings as needed. Oversee and ensure timely response and follow up of child protection cases. - Conduct regular meetings with case workers on lessons learned and best practices and provide feedback to the Sr. CP Officer. - As relevant, collaborate with Department of Social Welfare staff and other key stakeholders of assigned State and Division in management of child protection cases. - Ensure capacity for teams to receive and make referrals, with access to service mapping that is updated regularly. - Coordinate with SHLS Officer and Community Based Officer in services related to Safe Healing and Learning Spaces (SHLS) / Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) spaces in schools, and Community Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) in relevant location. Support them in developing messages for awareness raising with parents, teachers and community leaders through these services. - Contribute to creation and dissemination of key protection messages on child rights and wellbeing, raising issues on child protection issues such as child marriage and child labor. - Participate in, and as needed organize regional/provincial child protection meetings/workshops and provide feedback to Sr. CP Officer on discussions and outcomes. - Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including community leaders NGOs community-based organizations and other IRC sectors to enhance cooperation and coordination - Coordinate with CP Officers in other locations on project implementations. - Under the supervision of the Sr. CP Officer and CP Manager, monitor program budget and expenditure. - Provide regular progress reporting on cases to Sr. CP Officer and CP Manager for donor reporting. - Support Information Management Officer by providing data on CP cases and trends as requested - Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

Qualification and Requirements:

- Bachelor degree in a relevant field (e.g. social work, sociology, psychology, law) - Approximately 2 years of relevant experience , professional technical experience, including 1 year implementing humanitarian protection programs in emergency/conflict contexts - Experience in regular report writing - Experience with protection monitoring and case management preferred - Experience in designing and implementing surveys or assessments preferred - Good communication skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities - High standard of spoken and written Dari and Pashto (depending on location) and English - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word - Fluency in Pashto, Dari and English - Computer skills (including MS Word, Excel, Access, and internet) an advantage - Ability to work closely, professionally, and constructively with all others regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, race, tribe, or cultural background
