You have:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in education, agriculture, nutrition, public health, business administration, development studies, international relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience managing and implementing international donor-funded development programs.
  • Experience as Chief of Party (COP), Deputy Chief of Party, or Senior Project Manager.
  • Proven experience in school feeding, nutrition, and/or education programs.
  • Proven ability to articulate and align a shared vision across diverse partners, including government, donors, and implementing organizations.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) – required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the country of implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibility: Provide overall strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the USDA McGovern-Dole program, ensuring high-quality implementation, compliance with donor regulations, and achievement of expected results. The Chief of Party will serve as the primary representative of the project before USDA, government counterparts, and key stakeholders, leading coordination across partners and driving program impact.

The position will oversee program implementation in the Dry Corridor region of Honduras, specifically across the departments of Ocotepeque and Lempira, ensuring context-appropriate interventions that respond to local needs and strengthen food security, education, and child nutrition outcomes.

Position Requirement

Education: * Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in education, agriculture, nutrition, public health, business administration, development studies, international relations, or a related field.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience managing and implementing international donor-funded development programs.

Prior experience as: * Chief of Party (COP), * Deputy Chief of Party, or * Senior Project Manager. Proven experience in: * School feeding, nutrition, and/or education programs. * Managing large-scale grants in complex or fragile environments. * Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and working with multiple stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills: * Proven ability to articulate and align a shared vision across diverse partners, including government, donors, and implementing organizations.

Strong skills in: *Strategic leadership * Project management * Technical analysis * Stakeholder engagement * Experience ensuring compliance with donor regulations (especially U.S. Government/USDA). * Solid understanding and application of: * Gender equality approaches * Do No Harm principles * Adaptive management and learning

Languages:

* Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) – required.

Other Requirements:

* Willingness and ability to travel within the country of implementation. * Ability to operate effectively in complex and high-level coordination environments. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
