Acted

For the past 30 years, Acted has been working at the forefront of humanitarian action to save lives. Acted supports more than 27 million people in 43 countries, meeting their needs in hard-to-reach areas, while pursuing a triple mandate as a humanitarian, environmental, and development actor. Acted relies on a deep understanding of local contexts to develop and implement long-term actions, in collaboration with a wide range of local and international partners, to collectively build a 3ZERO world: Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon and Zero Poverty.

Acted Chad

Present in Chad since 2024, Acted helps vulnerable populations in the Lac and Ouaddai Provinces, and in Ndjamena. In 2024, the organization implemented 11 projects with a budget of 8 million euros. Its operations are coordinated from NDjamena and implemented through 3 field bases in Bol and Daboua on Lake Chad, and Adré in Ouaddai. In Lake Chad, Acted supports internally displaced people following attacks by armed groups through the RRM mechanism, of which it is co-lead, and provides assistance in food security and support for site coordination and management (CCCM). It is also involved in strengthening the resilience of populations through education, water and sanitation and livelihood projects. In Ouaddai, Acted redeployed in April 2023 to respond to the unprecedented influx of Sudanese refugees and Chadian returnees fleeing the fighting in Sudan. Through a multi-sectoral emergency shelter/AME, CCCM and Protection approach, Acted meets the vital needs of displaced people in informal sites and reception camps. Finally, Acted regularly intervenes in response to cyclical shocks, such as lean seasons and floods, which are particularly devastating. Acted’s actions in Chad are based on recognized multi-sectoral technical expertise, rapid deployment capacity, a data-driven approach, strong local acceptance, and increased community participation
