The overall purpose of the role:

The CCCM handyman is responsible for the delivery of timely, high-quality, and effective blacksmith services. This includes; providing support to the camp management team leader and provide the smithing support to the camps.

Responsibilities:

Service Provision:

  • The work includes evaluating and monitoring the faults of the beneficiaries and scheduling their maintenance
  • The work also includes giving courses related to the blacksmithing profession to the beneficiaries after making sure that they have passed the safety conditions course to introduce them to the blacksmithing profession as a kind of capacity-building program for the beneficiaries of the CCCM department.
  • Providing support to the electricity team with external and internal campaigns
  • Providing support to the Mobilizer team and the rest of the organization's departments in cases of inventory and distributions

Experience and technical competencies:

  • 1-2 years of experience working as a blacksmith.
  • have a good knowledge of the CCCM activities.
  • have a good knowledge of the irons and the type of smithing
  • measure of a character's experience and proficiency in repairing and maintaining objects and structures
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Problem solver
  • Attention to detail

Education:

Essential qualification

  • ability to read and write.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Arabic is required

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff.
